Cancun Flights With British Airways

British Airways is to start flights to Mexico's most important tourist destination with two direct flights a week from London Gatwick to Cancun, with the first flights taking off in November 2010.

when is spring break in Cancun

A lot of UK visitors ask when is spring break in Cancun ?


Most British holiday makers are looking to avoid Spring Break as it can get a bit rowdy but of course some Brits (usually 20 something guys !) like the sound of partying it up with drunk Americans and Canadians.

Well Spring Break begins for some schools from the middle of February, while other schools and universities are off as late as the 2nd week in April, but for most schools in US / Canada, Spring Break starts in March.

If you want to be sure avoid Cancun from 15 Feb until 15 April. Playa del Carmen / Playacar is probably a better bet if you want a relaxing holiday in Mexico.

Best Cancun hotel for convention centre ?

We want a flight leaving UK 15th or 16th may 2010 return 2 weeks later but only want accommodation week 1 - near to the Cancun centre (as I have a conference there) - we will then travel after the meeting 23rd-30th and fly back end of the fortnight. Plane hijacked in Cancun

A Mexican airliner with 104 passengers on board was hijacked in the resort of Cancun today and flown to Mexico City's international airport.

Security forces arrived at the airport, where the hijacked Boeing 737 plane from the airline Aeromexico stood on the runway. All the passengers and plane crew were able to leave the plane.

At least six suspected hijackers were arrested, according to local television stations. The country's Communications Minister Juan Molinar said that the situation is completely under control, that all passengers are safe and sound and that the six hijackers had managed to smuggle a bomb aboard the plane.

Mexico air traffic down 40% in May - Swine Flu

Analysis has revealed that air traffic in Mexico fell dramatically in May - on averge around 40% while flights to Cancun were down a massive 63% !

UK and other international holiday companies with operations to Cancun cancelled flights as a response to the swine flu outbreak.

Now that flights are being operated again there are some superb late deals to Cancun available.
